How to Throw the Ultimate Girls Night Out

How to Throw the Ultimate Girls Night Out - Kortni Jeane
There’s nothing like a good ol’ fashioned Girls Night Out to reconnect and reset with your nearest and dearest gal pals. And if there are swimmers involved, you know you’re doing something right! Today we’re walking you through the magical steps in planning and throwing the ultimate Girls Night Out (GNO). You could easily adjust these ideas for an awesome Girls Night “In” but today we’re focusing on getting you and your friends out and about, trying new things together!
.
Make an Invitation List
First things first, make a list of ladies you’d like to invite to your GNO! How many people may determine what activity you do. If you want a night of Karaoke, you may want to invite more people to make it more fun! Or if you are leaning towards a night at a nice restaurant, you may want to invite a smaller party. So decide beforehand who you want to invite to your GNO before moving forward with your planning!
.
Decide the When
GNO doesn’t necessarily have to be “at night” so have fun deciding when you’ll have your big event. Decide if you’ll do a brunch in the morning, a hike in the afternoon or an evening shindig. Then decide on times + days that you could make it work. This may mean getting a hold of your invitees schedules so you know what day works best for them. But for the most part, weekends are best!
Decide the Where + What
Now’s your chance to decide on your activity + where you’ll go for your GNO! Don’t hold back! Remember, you’re throwing the ULTIMATE GNO so have fun with it and try things that you’ve always wanted to. Here are some of our personal favorites:
.
1. Movie Night {easiest idea and one of the best! Pick your favorite rom-com and provide your favorite snacks or set up a soda bar! You can even rent a theater at your local movie theater for your viewing pleasure.}
.
2. Bachelor/Bachelorette Viewing Party {binge watching some Bach screams girls night out to us! Turn up the heat by renting your own theater at a local movie theater!}
.
3. Swap Meet {meet at your favorite restaurant and have each girl bring their favorite items or treasures to exchange with other guests. It’s a great way to get to know each other and try new/free things!}
.
4. Book Club {takes a little more preparation but it’s great fun to read the same book as a group and talk about it over dinner.}
.
5. Fondue Night {find your local fondue restaurant or have each guest bring her favorite fondue food for a night at home of yum!}
.
6. Chocolate Night {sign up for a local chocolate workshop and go to town! You’ll make sweet memories for sure!}
.
7. Paint Night {sign up for a local paint night at a restaurant or bar! You’ll have a blast painting together and can keep your creations or exchange them with each other.}
.
8. Mani-Pedis {this is a classic GNO that you can use over and over again. Just make an appointment for your group at your favorite salon and stop for your favorite refreshment on the way there.}
.
9. Spa Day {turn pampering up a notch and turn GNO into a day of relaxation! Just book those appointments and extend those invitations!}
.
10. Escape Room {lock yourselves in a room with nothing but cryptic clues and your smarts! Escape rooms are still all the rage and may get the best of you!}
11. Bowling {a classic game that is sure to be a good time!}
.
12. Mini Golf {say goodbye to cringeworthy dates and hello to a night of bashing a fluro-coured ball around a maze of fake turf!}
.
13. Target Scavenger Hunt {every lady LOVES Target so why not spend the night searching for goodies?! You can also play the game where you all have $50 gift cards and compete to see who can get the closest to $50 on their receipt without going over!}
.
14. Gourmet Dinner {foodie friends unite! Go to a nice restaurant together that you’ve been dying to try and dress up while you’re at it!}
.
15. Gourmet Dessert {skip the fancy dinner and go straight to dessert! With so many busy schedules to work with, catch up with your gals later in the night!}
.
16. Night in the Pool or Hot Tub {this one can work in the day or evening depending on what’s available. Buy Kortni Jeane swimmers to match and go have a blast!}
.
17. See a Show {from ballets to concerts, if your group is a lover of the arts, what better way to spend a GNO than at a show?!}
.
18. Pole Dancing {hear us out - pole dancing is an exercise in acrobatics + fitness more than anything else. It’s a lot of fun and you’ll have a great time together!}
.
19. Girls Weekend {turn things up a notch and take a whole weekend away at a hotel or airbnb. Take the opportunity to get out of town and completely disconnect from the hustle of real life.
.
20. Night of Stargazing {wear your comfiest clothes, grab some blankets + pillows, and drive out to your favorite stargazing spot. You’ll love relaxing under the stars and catching up with your ladies! Snacks aren’t a bad idea either.}
Make invitations!
Now that you have the who, when, where, and what, it’s time to make your GNO invitations. And have fun with it! You can make your own invitations and include a little gift that you hand deliver to your gals. Or you can sign up for a virtual invitation that’s sent to their emails. You can get real creative and post to your “closest friends” on IG stories to fill them in on the details! Or keep it simple and just text everyone on your invitation list! Whatever works best for you + makes you excited for the ultimate GNO!
.
Have a Blast!
Time to take the edge off of life, let go of the things on your mind, and enjoy yourself for your ultimate Girls Night Out! Even if everything doesn’t go according to plan, don’t stress! It’ll be a night to remember no matter what!
.
